Breaking the habit

See what you're (family) system can mean for you

“Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards”
Søren Kierkegaard

This quote is often mentioned in systemic work, also known as (family) constellations. You may find yourself repeatedly facing the same problems in life. You want to do things differently, yet somehow you can’t. Often, a pattern isn’t related to what’s happening now, but rather connected to something that happened earlier.

Through a constellation, you uncover the origins of your patterns and the dynamics within your (family) system. Most importantly, you learn how to let go of them and live more freely moving forward.

How can we do a constellation?

Further explanation

What is a (family) constellation?

Family constellations are a form of coaching or guidance that allows you to look at your challenges in life from the broader perspective of your family system. Who we are today is deeply connected to our ancestors and the underlying relationships in our families. A constellation is a visualisation of the patterns and dynamics that influence you. In a constellation, unconscious patterns are brought to light, making it possible to (gradually) break free from them. In my experience, this can lead to a freer and more fulfilling life.

During a family constellation, we engage in ‘systemic observation’. This means paying attention to the vast web in which all individuals and events within a system are interconnected and influence each other in the past, present, and future. The system we look at is often your family, but it could also be about your work, a community, your own body or personal system. You are the starting point and your soul leads the way.

We will start with a brief intake conversation, in which your question, wish or desire becomes clear. Then, we’ll work with your question, not by thinking about it or analysing it, but primarily by feeling into it. Next, we explore the situation as it is now, by placing elements related to your question in the room. In a group setting, I’ll ask you to ‘set up’ people to represent the elements connected to your question. In a one-on-one constellation, we’ll use objects or mats (markers) to represent these people or themes. Then, we simply observe what unfolds. Once the situation is clear, it becomes visible what is needed to restore flow in the system. Usually, we create a healing movement for the system by acknowledging or accepting something. We end the constellation when it feels right for you, and make sure you are calm and okay to go home.

Roles

Questioner
As the questioner, you bring a personal issue for the constellation to work with. You are in charge and observe how the constellation unfolds. After a while, you’ll be invited to take your own place within the setup.

Representatives
As a representative, you are asked to stand for (or resonate with) people, themes, or feelings related to the questioner’s issue. In individual constellations, the facilitator and the questioner take these places themselves.

What do people think of Begane Grond?

I visited Dionne for a holistic pulsing session – a type of massage that gently sets the body in motion – and I am very satisfied with the treatment. Dionne works with integrity, respect, and genuine attention, in a pleasant and safe environment where you can truly be yourself. She is also highly intuitive: she simply senses what you need. Afterwards, my body felt much looser and more relaxed, and it became clear to me what my body needs going forward. I would certainly recommend a session with Dionne!

Milou S.

In a time when we’ve sometimes lost our connection with ourselves and with others, a treatment with Dionne is a true gift to yourself. With great love and attention, Dionne tunes in to what is needed, and you feel incredibly welcome — with everything you bring. The space in which the treatments/sessions take place also deserves to be mentioned. Here too, a warm and attentive place has been created to truly arrive.

Britt M.

Well taken care of. A pleasant atmosphere. A warm personality. With attention and great respect for my boundaries, Dionne massaged my body. A new appointment is already scheduled.
